Terms Of Use
Effective Date: 25 September 2026 Last Updated: 25 September 2026
These Terms govern your use of the BTLR app and services (“BTLR”, “the Service”). By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What BTLR is
BTLR is a lifestyle personalisation platform. You record what you like; BTLR shares what you choose with venues, butlers and experiences so they can serve you better.
The Service includes:
- Preferences — your personal preference graph, built from what you tell us.
- Spaces — participating venues. Owners register a Space, place BTLR beacons, and configure touchpoints.
- Presence detection — Bluetooth beacons and geofences that recognise you at a Space.
- Butlers — individuals you can book for a session.
- SocialMatch — optional introductions to other guests at a venue.
- Tokens and gifts — promotional rewards described in §8.
We may change, add or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you and you may cancel.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 to use BTLR, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you are treated as a minor: some features are restricted, and SocialMatch requires the verified approval of an adult guardian given through the app.
You must give accurate information and keep it current. Your date of birth cannot be changed once set, because age gating depends on it — contact support if it is wrong.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and anything done through it. Keep your credentials and PINs secret, and tell us promptly at Admin@btlr.vip if you suspect unauthorised use.
Alias profiles. You may create additional personas under one account, protected by a PIN. Aliases share your account’s email, country and date of birth. They are for separating contexts — not for impersonating anyone or evading a restriction, suspension or block.
An alias that goes unused for an extended period is deleted along with its preferences. We warn you first and you can keep it.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Personal subscriptions. BTLR offers free and paid tiers. Paid tiers renew automatically for the period you selected until cancelled.
Space subscriptions. Space owners subscribe per Space. A Space is only created once payment succeeds.
How billing works.
- Prices are shown in your local currency before you commit, and include applicable taxes where we are required to show them.
- Payment is taken by Stripe. Their terms apply to the payment itself.
- Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged pro rata. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.
- Renewals continue until you cancel. Cancel any time in the app; you keep access until the period you have paid for ends.
- Where you purchase through Apple, Apple’s billing terms and refund process apply and cancellation is managed in your Apple account settings.
Refunds. Statutory rights always apply. Beyond those, subscription fees are generally non-refundable for a period already begun. Butler bookings follow §6.
Non-payment. We may suspend paid features if a payment fails, after telling you.
5. Spaces (for venue owners)
If you register a Space, you additionally agree that:
- You are authorised to act for that venue.
- The details you provide — address, geofence, contact, tag — are accurate.
- You will use guest data only to serve that guest at your venue, in line with the permission they gave, and in compliance with data-protection law. You are a separate controller of any guest data you use for your own purposes.
- You will not attempt to identify a guest beyond what BTLR shares with you, or combine BTLR data with other sources to do so.
- Beacons supplied or allocated to you remain associated with your Space and are to be used only for it.
- You are responsible for your staff’s conduct in the Service.
We may suspend or remove a Space that breaches these Terms or puts guests at risk.
6. Butler bookings
Booking. You select a time, place and duration. A booking is confirmed once payment succeeds and a butler accepts. Long bookings may be covered by more than one butler in sequence; the chat and context carry across the handover.
Before the session. A confirmed butler can message you in advance. You can reply once the pre-session window opens, or earlier if the butler enables it. Until the session begins, a butler has access to that conversation only.
Cancellation. You may cancel up to the cancellation cut-off shown on the booking for a refund of the amounts indicated. After that cut-off the booking is generally non-refundable, because the butler’s time has been committed. If BTLR or the butler cancels, you are refunded in full.
Tips are voluntary, go to the butler, and are non-refundable.
Butlers are independent. They are not employees of BTLR unless we say so in writing. We vet and allocate them and we take conduct seriously, but we do not control every aspect of the service they provide. Report any problem to Admin@btlr.vip.
Conduct. Treat butlers with respect. Harassment, discrimination, threats or demands outside the agreed scope end the session immediately with no refund, and may end your account.
7. SocialMatch
SocialMatch is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
When on, other guests at the same venue may be introduced to you on the basis of shared interests. You control the persona used and what is shared. Contact details are never shared automatically.
You agree not to use SocialMatch to harass, solicit, advertise, or make anyone uncomfortable, and not to share what you learn about another guest outside the Service. We may withdraw access for any of these, without notice.
Minors require verified guardian approval, and matching is age-bracketed.
8. Tokens, gifts and discounts
BTLR may issue tokens granting access to features, discounts or complimentary butler time, whether from us, a venue, a butler or another member.
Tokens:
- have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not transferable except through the gifting features we provide;
- expire, and are subject to caps and eligibility rules shown at the time;
- can be withdrawn or voided if obtained by error, abuse or misrepresentation.
Nothing here creates an entitlement to a token, or to any particular number.
9. Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law, or use BTLR to harm, harass, defraud or discriminate;
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your association with a venue or business;
- interfere with the Service — probing, scraping, reverse engineering, defeating rate limits or access controls, or attempting to reach another account’s data;
- tamper with, move, spoof or interfere with BTLR beacons;
- submit content you have no right to submit, or anyone else’s personal data without a proper basis;
- resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written agreement.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into BTLR. You grant us a licence to host, process and display it as needed to run the Service for you — including generating AI summaries and sharing what you have chosen to share.
You are responsible for having the right to submit what you submit.
11. Availability
We aim to keep BTLR available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, third-party failures and connectivity problems happen. Beacon detection additionally depends on your device, its permissions, Bluetooth being enabled, and local conditions.
12. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time in the app. Closure deletes or anonymises your personal data except records we must keep by law.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users, and we will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.
13. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that preferences and recommendations will be accurate or suitable.
BTLR is a facilitator. Meals, stays, experiences and services are provided by venues and butlers, not by us. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions beyond what the law requires.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £100.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, data or opportunity.
Consumers: you always keep your statutory rights, and nothing here overrides them.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Where a change is material we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use BTLR after that means you accept the change; if you do not, close your account.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer in another country, you keep the protection of your local mandatory law and may bring proceedings where you live.
